We are trudging through the last few weeks of winter but we still have to have our furnaces, especially during cool nights. There’s not a lot that is worse than laying down at night just to realize your furnace won’t turn on. If you find yourself in this situation, here are a few things you can check yourself prior to calling Comfortech Service Experts .
Check Air Filters
You should change standard air filters each month. If you fail to do so, they can become clogged, blocking air flow and resulting in your furnace malfunctioning.
Check Your Thermostat
Try turning the temperature up a few degrees to get the furnace to kick on. If the actual room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the heating system won’t turn on. Also, verify the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem obvious, but confirm the power switch next to the furnace is “On.” Even gas heating equipment uses electricity so make sure the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch wasn’t accidently flipped to the “Off” position.
If you check all these things and your heating system will still not start up, give Comfortech Service Experts a call at 601-852-3105 and we’ll come out and get you taken care of as soon as possible.
