What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Comfortech Service Experts is here with some of the most usual A/C problems in Jackson.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your A/C equipment working but there isn’t cool air blowing, you might need to have your refrigerant levels checked. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air being produced by your system is actually cool. Call Comfortech Service Experts and we’ll come out and check your refrigerant levels and look into why your system is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

A reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it just burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity tends to cause more condensation so a second problem to watch for is that the water is not draining right or that the drain is obstructed. If you can confirm these things, you may be able to pinpoint the issue; if not, give Comfortech Service Experts a call and we can find out what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and discuss your options to get your system working again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try decreasing the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds ridiculous but sometimes we forget the obvious. If that doesn’t get your air conditioner cooling, inspect the air filter. If the air filter is blocked, it could cause major cooling troubles. Another issue that could cause your insufficient cooling is that your HVAC system is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. Comfortech Service Experts will come out and conduct an analysis to determine if the size of your system is causing your problems.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off repeatedly, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and in need of cleaning. Once the system is cleaned and all obstructions removed, you may be all set. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a part so if your home cools to the correct temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to heat up quickly, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the system is having to work harder to keep your home cool.

No matter your issue, whatever air conditioning trouble you run into, Comfortech Service Experts is here for you all day, every day so we can get you comfortable quickly.
